Men’s tennis opens season at St. Lawrence

CANTON, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team began its 2018-19 campaign at the annual St. Lawrence Fall Classic on Saturday.
 
Newcomer Ioannis Binopoulos had a strong showing in his debut, winning his first singles match in the 'A' flight, defeating RIT's Chandler Libby, 8-6. Unfortunately, Binopoulos lost in the quarterfinals, 8-2.
 
Doubles competition was highlighted by the duo of Justin Gold and Cameron Klepper, who won their first two matches to advance to the semifinals in the 'B' flight.
 
Austin Egna won his quarterfinal singles match in the 'A' consolation bracket and will continue to compete on Sunday. David Bond and Jack Andre will also continue to compete on Sunday, as they won their quarterfinal matches in the 'C' and 'D' consolation brackets, respectively.
