2ND ANNUAL MAYOR'S CUP
- Union will battle ECAC Hockey rival RPI at the Times Union Center on Saturday, January 19.

UNION VS.RPI - ALL-TIME SERIES
- The Dutchwomen are 4-28-5 all-time against the Engineers. Last year, Union came away with a 2-1 victory over their cross-town rivals at Messa Rink (Jan. 26, 2018). The next day (Jan. 27, 2018), in the inaugural Mayor's Cup game, the Engineers defeated the Dutchwomen, 2-1, at the Times Union Center.

SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
- RPI is led in points by junior forward Blake Orosz, who has seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 22 games this season. Fellow junior forward Sabrina Repaci is second on the Engineers in goals (five) and points (14), while leading the team with nine assists in 22 games. Senior forward Jaimie Grigsby also has 10 points this season, with four goals and six assists.
-In net, senior goaltender Lovisa Selander is 6-9-4 this season, with a 2.06 goals against average and .942 save percentage, which ranks third in the country.

LAST TIME OUT
-Last weekend, the Dutchwomen hosted St. Lawrence (Jan. 11) and #6 Clarkson (Jan. 12) in consecutive ECAC Hockey bouts.
-The Saints took a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the contest and held this lead heading into the second frame. Midway through the second period, St. Lawrence gained a 2-0 advantage. The visitors added another goal with 2:01 remaining to lead 3-0 with 20 minutes left to play. First-year forward Cassidy Michalicka netted her first goal in a Union sweater with 5:34 remaining in the final period off assists from junior defenseman Cheyenne Harris and sophomore forward Helen Markovic. The Dutchwomen then made it 3-2 with less than a minute left in regulation when junior forward Katelynn Russ scored off assists from junior defenseman Ava Reynolds and sophomore defenseman Megan Ryan. An empty net goal for St. Lawrence with seven seconds left in the third period secured a 4-2 win for the Saints. In net, junior goaltender Amelia Murray accounted for 39 saves for Union.
-The Golden Knights jumped out to an early 1-0 lead 4:36 into the opening period after the puck deflected off a Union defenseman's skate and went into the bottom corner. Following a Dutchwomen power play, the puck was cleared straight to a Clarkson forward who scored a one-on-one chance to give the Golden Knights a 2-0 edge midway through the second period. The visitors then scored two goals in a minute-span to take a 4-0 lead with 7:12 left in the second, and added another goal with 1:51 left to take a 5-0 edge into the final 20 minutes. Clarkson made it 6-0 with 8:02 remaining in the third period to wrap up the victory. In net for Union, sophomore goaltender Coco Francis and junior goaltender Amelia Murray combined for 34 saves.

LAST MAYOR'S CUP
-Union came out early applying pressure to RPI's defense. The Dutchwomen set up several scoring plays, between linemates Cheyenne Harris, Rachel de Perio and Katelynn Russ in the opening minutes of play. However, Engineers goaltender Lovisa Selander refused to let anything past her.
-With 2:03 left in the first period, Ava Reynolds went to the penalty box. Union's penalty kill went to work, and as the RPI power play expired, Reynolds came flying out of the box, picking up a cleared puck from Katie Laughlin. Reynolds had a near breakaway chance, but the first period clock would expire just as she started to gain momentum.
-RPI took control over the second period, scoring two unanswered goals. At the 10:04 mark, the Engineers went up on the power play and were able to net the puck on a wrister, with 12 seconds remaining in the advantage. A short while later, RPI would score again by knocking in a high puck past goaltender Coco Francis.
-With five minutes to go in the game, victory seemed out of reach for the Dutchwomen. But, with seniors Caitlyn McLaren and Laughlin in the driver's seat, they cut the team's deficit in half. From the point, McLaren took a hard shot that Laughlin managed to tip in.
-After a last-minute timeout, Union pulled Francis from the net, but were unable to score the equalizer with the extra attacker.
-RPI would ultimately take home the hardware for the inaugural women's Mayor's Cup game, with a 2-1 victory.
