Men's Swimming Dropped by #19 Amherst

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. –
The Union College men's swimming and diving team faced one of its toughest tests of the season on Saturday, as the Dutchmen fell to CSCAA #19 Amherst College by a score of 234-42 on Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Gym Pool.
 
Senior Seif Refaat had two solid swims in the 100 butterfly and the 200 butterfly, taking second in the 200 with a time of 2:00.71 and also earning a third-place finish in the 100 by touching the wall in 53.98. The senior also placed third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:05.12.
 
Freshman Jack Tucker also had another quality meet early in his career, placing third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:01.07 in addition to a fourth-place result in the 200 breaststroke.
 
Senior Owen Perks also earned a top-three finish in the 200 backstroke, touching the wall with a time of 2:07.91.
 
Union will finish off the 2019 portion of its schedule next Saturday when the team travels to Williams College for a 1 p.m. meet with the Ephs.
