SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's swimming and diving team faced one of its toughest tests of the season on Saturday, as the Dutchwomen fell to CSCAA #15 Amherst College by a score of 242-57 on Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Gym Pool.
Senior
Kerry Kelly performed well in several events that she normally doesn't swim, taking second place in the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle. She finished the 1000 free in 10:55.75 and the 500 free in 5:17.46. The senior also took second place in one of her top events, the 200 butterfly, finishing in 2:12.57.
Sophomore
Elise Liebow placed third in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall in 1:04.50 to lead three Union swimmers. Senior
Emily Quinn also performed well in the 200 breaststroke, grabbing third place in 2:34.41.

Melanie Baker finishing in 1:57.27.
The Union divers also performed well against top competition, which included the reigning one-meter and three-meter national champions. Junior
Amanda Lopez took fourth in both events, finishing the one-meter dive with 169.43 points and the three-meter dive with 161.17 points.
Union will finish off the 2019 portion of its schedule next Saturday when the team travels to Williams College for a 1 p.m. meet with the Ephs.
