SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The Union College women's ice hockey team heads on the road for another weekend of ECAC Hockey action, facing off against Yale University on Friday night before playing at Brown on Saturday afternoon.

About the Dutchwomen:

  • Union fell twice last weekend, falling against Syracuse 5-0 on Tuesday, before starting conference play with a 4-0 loss from #5/6 Clarkson on Friday.
  • In Friday's loss from the Golden Knights, first-year goaltender Bella McKee tied her career high in saves, with 51 saves on 55 shots faced during the game. McKee also made 10 saves during the third period in the loss against the Orange, coming in as a relief for senior goaltender Amelia Murray.
  • Regardless of Clarkson's 14-5 shot advantage in the first, the Dutchwomen kept the nationally-ranked Golden Knights contained, and the game had a 0-0 score going into the first intermission.
  • In both games combined, sophomore Cassidy Michalicka and senior Katelynn Russ led the Dutchwomen in shots, with five.

About Yale:

  • Yale split a road conference weekend, taking a 1-0 win at Dartmouth on Friday, and falling at Harvard on Saturday by a 5-2 tally.
  • With their seven points this season, freshman Elle Hartje and sophomore Claire Dalton are currently tied for tenth in the ECAC in scoring, after playing just four games. Hartje netted a hat trick in her first ever game for as a Bulldog in route to a 9-2 win. For her efforts, she was named ECAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 27th.
  • Senior Tera Hofmann and junior Gianna Meloni have both started two games for the Bulldogs so far this season, with Hofmann leading the pack in goals against average (0.53), save percentage (.964), and wins (2).
  • Yale is currently tied for fifth in the ECAC standings, with a 1-1-0 conference record, as of November 5.

The Series with the Bulldogs:

  • Friday night's game between Yale and Union is the 35th meeting between the two ECAC Hockey squads, with Union's record sitting at 3-29-2.
  • Last season, Union went 0-2-0, with Yale having the definitive advantage in both games. The last time the Dutchwomen played in New Haven, the Bulldogs took the game with a 4-2 score on January 26, 2019.

  • Brown fell in its last contest, losing to UConn, 7-0, in overtime, in Storrs. The Bears will host Rensselaer on Friday night before welcoming the Dutchwomen on Saturday.
  • Shay Maloney leads the Bears in points through five games with two goals and three points. Darby Melia also leads the Bears in goal scoring with Maloney, with two goals and two points on the season so far.
