SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – After going winless against Brown last season, the Union College men's hockey team dominated the Bears in a 5-0 victory on Friday night at Messa Rink.
 
The Dutchmen (4-11-0, 3-4-0 ECAC Hockey) tied their season-high in goals in just the first period alone, carrying a 3-0 lead over Brown (3-8-0, 3-6-0 ECACH) into the first intermission. Union scored two more goals in the second period en route to the five-goal victory.

• Sean Harrison and Chaz Smedsrud both had two-point nights. Harrison had a goal and an assist, while Smedsrud had two assists.
• A total of 10 Dutchmen contributed to the scoring blitz.
• Matt Allen scored his first collegiate goal, scoring on the power play midway through the first period to give Union a 2-0 lead.
• Josh Kosack and Michael Ryan scored their first goals of the season, as both scored in the second period.
• Union went 1-for-3 on the power play and killed off the lone power play that Brown received.
• Darion Hanson made 25 stops in net for the Dutchmen, recording his sixth career shutout.
