SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — After a tough battle with conference foes last weekend, the Dutchwomen continue their season at home once more, and welcome Brown and Yale to Messa Rink on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18.
About the Dutchwomen:
- Union opened up a 6-game home stand by hosting #4 Cornell and Colgate at Messa Rink.
- After senior Katelynn Russ opened up the game scoring versus the nationally-ranked Big Red, Cornell tied it at 1-1 in the second period.
- Both defenses proved to be hard to break, as the game was taken into overtime, where neither team scored. After five minutes of overtime, neither team could capitalize on extra time, and the final result was a tie for both teams. The tie was Cornell's second on the season, and Union's fifth.
- First-year goaltender Bella McKee made 33 saves, while her counterpart from Cornell, Lindsay Browning made 11.
- The Dutchwomen continued the weekend with the Raiders of Colgate and suffered a 4-0 loss here in Schenectady.
- Colgate scored in each period of the game, including a two-goal second period to extend their lead. While the Dutchwomen didn't score, sophomore Grace Heiting led all players in shots in the game, with seven.
- In the game, the Raiders had the close advantage in shots on goal, 30-27. McKee made 26 saves in the conference matchup.
