Union drops league contest to Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Union College men's hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to Yale on Friday night at Ingalls Rink. Union drops to 6-16-2 on the season with a 4-8-1 mark in ECAC Hockey competition, while Yale improves to 7-9-0 (5-6-0 ECACH).
 
Despite Yale controlling most of play in the first period, Union weathered a 12-3 shot deficit to keep the game scoreless into the first intermission.
 
However, the Bulldogs set the tempo early in the second period, scoring just 25 seconds in. Yale would go on to score twice more in the frame to carry a 3-0 lead into the second period.
 
In the third period, the Bulldogs scored on the power play and a shorthanded goal before finishing the contest with the 5-0 victory.
