Dutchmen fall in slugfest with #16 Harvard

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – It was not a night for goaltenders, as Union and Harvard combined for a total of 13 goals, with the Crimson topping the Dutchmen, 8-5, on Friday night at Messa Rink.
 
Union opened the contest with one of its better periods of play this season, out-shooting Harvard, 12-7, and taking a 1-0 lead with 2:59 before the first intermission.
 
Unfortunately, Harvard responded with a tremendous effort in the second period, netting six-straight goals from six different skaters, to take a 6-1 lead. Senior forward Anthony Rinaldi responded on the power play with 2.7 seconds remaining in the second period to score Union's second goal of the game.
 
Despite the second period by Harvard, Union came out in the third period and out-scored the Crimson, 3-2. Additionally, both of Harvard's goals in the third came off back-to-back five-on-three power plays.
