Dutchmen Fall at Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. — 
The Union College men's swimming and diving team faced one of their most stringent conference tests of the season on Saturday, as the Dutchmen fell to Ithaca College by a score of 216-51 on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Seif Refaat had three solid swims in the 100 and 200 butterfly, taking second in the 100 with a time of 54.06, and earned a second-place finish in the 200 with a time of 2:20.28. The senior also placed second in the 200 individual medley event with a time of 2:03.35 to end the day.

Senior Owen Perks also grabbed two solid second-place finishes for Union, in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, touching the wall with times of 56.55 and 2:03.29, respectively.

Sophomore Brendan Egan grabbed third in the 100 butterfly event behind Refaat, with a time of 54.09.

The Dutchmen will take a few weeks off before heading off to Ithaca once more for the Liberty League conference championships. Day one of the competition is scheduled on February 19, with a 10 a.m. start.
