SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — After a weekend on the road, the Dutchwomen return home for the last home games of the season, hosting ECAC foes Dartmouth and #10 Harvard for the annual "Do It For Darron" game and Senior Day, respectively.

About the Dutchwomen:

  • Union returned from their bye weekend and went on a conference road trip to play Quinnipiac and Princeton.
  • Union is in a scenario where they need to win the next few games to have a chance to clinch a playoff spot for the postseason.
  • The Dutchwomen have struggled in their last few games, including a 6-2 loss in Hamden vs. Quinnipiac, and a 3-0 shutout loss to the #6 Tigers in Princeton.
  • First-year Leah Herrfort scored her fifth of the season in the first game at Q.U., followed by junior Megan Ryan scoring her sixth of the season.
  • Senior Amelia Murray stopped 40 shots against QU and stopped 34 at Baker Rink in New Jersey. Union's defense blocked a total of 25 shots on the weekend, with Ryan leading the pack with 8.
  • With Union's losses on the weekend, the Dutchwomen currently have sole possession of ninth place in ECAC Hockey with a conference record of 5-8-3. Union is currently ahead of Dartmouth, Brown, and RPI, who are already eliminated from postseason contention.

About the Big Green:

  • The Big Green spent the weekend at home and hosted Colgate and Cornell. Dartmouth went 0-2-0 on the weekend, lost 4-2 to the Raiders, before falling 3-0 to #1 Cornell on Saturday.
  • Dartmouth's offense is quiet but lethal. Catherine Trevors (8-7-15) holds the team lead in points and goals. Behind Trevors on the leaderboard is first-year CC Bowlby, with 8 goals and 14 points to tie the lead in goals so far this year for Dartmouth. Alongside them is Gabby Billing with 14 points on the year to tie with Bowlby, and Bailee Brekke, who has 9 points.
  • First-year Hannah Humphreys has handled the goaltending responsibilities this season, starting 19 games for the Big Green. Humphreys has earned a 4-12-3 record, 3.23 GAA, with a save percentage of .884.
  • Dartmouth is currently 1-10-2 on the road so far. The matchup between the two teams is the second on the season, as the Union tied the Big Green in Hanover in January.
  • With their 2-13-3 record in ECAC Conference play, the Big Green are 10th in the conference.

About the Crimson:

  • Before falling in the Beanpot consolation game to Boston College, the Crimson hosted ECAC foes, Cornell and Colgate. Harvard fell to the Big Red 4-1, before getting a big conference win over the Raiders by a 4-3 score.
  • Harvard has been known for a potent and lethal offense, and this year is no exception. Kristin Della Rovere (17-12-29) ties the team lead in points and leads in goals. Behind Della Rovere on the leaderboard is sophomore Dominique Petrie, with her team-lead 17 assists and 29 points in her second campaign for the Crimson. Alongside them is Anne Bloomer with 21 points on the year, and Keely Moy, who has thrived in her junior season for the Tigers with 18 points.
  • Harvard has split goaltending duties this season, with sophomore Lindsay Reed starting the most games with 16. Reed currently has a save percentage of .915 and a goals-against-average of 3.00. Junior Becky Dutton and senior Beth Larsom have both seen action in five games each, with Dutton leading the pair in statistical categories, with a .949 save percentage and a 1.62 goals against, in her 4 starts between the pipes for Harvard.
  • Harvard is currently 7-4-0 on the road so far. The matchup between the two teams is the second on the season, as Harvard defeated Union by a 7-2 tally in January.
  • With their 12-5-1 record in ECAC Conference play, the Crimson are 4th in the conference, behind Cornell, Princeton, and Clarkson. With their votes in the USCHO.com poll, Harvard is currently ranked 10th in the country.

The Series with Dartmouth:

  • Friday's meeting between Union and Dartmouth is the 34th all-time meeting between the two conference foes, with Union sitting at 3-28-2 historically.
  • The two teams last played each other in January, where Union tied the Big Green, 3-3, in Hanover.
  • The two squads first met on January 30, 2004, at Messa Rink, which ended in a 7-0 Big Green victory.

The Series with Harvard:

  • Saturday's meeting between Union and Harvard is the 33rd all-time meeting between the two conference foes, with Union sitting at 2-31-0 historically.
  • The two teams last played each other in January, where Harvard claimed a 7-2 win over Union in Cambridge.
  • The two squads first met on November 7, 2003, at Messa Rink, which ended in a 13-0 Crimson victory.

Dutchwomen Host their Annual DIFD Game:

  • Union is set to host the team's annual Do It For Daron game on Friday, February 14, against Dartmouth. The DIFD organization aims to promote positive mental health and support those who suffer from the stigma of mental illness. Admission is free at the door, but donations will be accepted, and all proceeds benefit the local chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to mental health initiatives in the Capital Region.


Senior Day: 

A Golden Year:

  • During winter break, head coach Josh Sciba traveled to Bratislava, Slovakia, as the assistant coach for the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team, for the second consecutive season.
  • Team USA earned a gold medal in Slovakia, after earning an overtime win over Canada on January 2. This marks the second U18 world medal for Sciba, as Team USA earned a silver medal in 2019. 

Comparing the Conference:

  • First place Cornell is pulling ahead with 29 points, holding a conference record of 15-0-3 so far on the season. 
  • Five ECAC teams are in the top ten in the weekly polls. Cornell is at No. 1/1, Princeton is at No. 5/5, Clarkson at No. 6/6, and Harvard and Quinnipiac round out the pack at No. 10/10 and No. 10/RV, respectively.
  • Union sits at ninth with a 5-10-3 conference record, and 13 points in the standings.
