Day One Results
CANTON, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team started the 2021-22 fall season on Saturday with day one of the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic, held at the Sammis Tennis Courts.

Junior
Aidan O'Brien earned one victory in the "A" Singles bracket, defeating RIT's Ethan Martin by an 8-3 score before falling to Hobart's Harry Lyu, 8-4, in the quarterfinals.

First-year
Ben Jacobs picked up a win in his collegiate debut, taking out RIT's Christian Berko by a 8-5 score in the first round of the "C" Singles bracket, while senior
Nick Weitzman also won his opening match by defeating Rochester's Rohan Dhawan, 8-5.

Both Union entries advanced to the semifinals in the "D" Singles bracket. Junior
Ryan Dagan defeated Hamilton's Ryan Zeien by an 8-4 score and then knocked off Hobart's Rahul Vallabhajosula, 8-6. Sophomore
Khai Ton advanced as well, losing only two games in victories over RIT's Carter Casimir and St. Lawrence's Cameron Pankau.

The first-year tandem of
Austin Gregory and Ian Schunk earned one Union victory in the doubles brackets, with the pair defeating Dhawan and Kenneth Lee of Rochester by an 8-4 score.

Day two of the St. Lawrence Fall Classic begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning.
