CANTON, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team finished up play at the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic on Sunday, producing several good backdraw results at the Sammis Tennis Courts.

After winning his first match in the "A" singles backdraw yesterday, senior
Ioannis Binopoulos picked up two more victories on Sunday, beating Hamilton's Brian Wang, 8-4, and then defeating Rochester's Pasquale Procaccino by default.

In the "C" singles backdraw, sophomore
Thomas McGuire earned a hard-fought 8-7 (11-9) win over RIT's Joel Pho yesterday and came up just short in another tiebreaker today, falling to Ithaca's Tyler Del Zoppo, 8-7 (7-2), in the semifinals.

After both picking up two wins on the same side of the "D" singles bracket yesterday, junior
Ryan Dagan and sophomore
Khai Ton met each other in the semifinals, with Ton pulling out an 8-3 victory. Ton fell to Hamilton's Gianni Esposito in the finals, 8-4.

Nick Weitzman and junior
Aidan O'Brien took top honors in the backdraw of the "A" doubles bracket. After one win yesterday, the pair bested RIT's Brennan Bull and Christian Berko in an 8-7 (7-3) tiebreaker and then defaulted past Ithaca's Minos Stavrakas and Deon Kraft in the finals.

McGuire and sophomore
Bailey McAtee advanced to the finals of the "B" doubles backdraw as well, defeating Max Sobel and Daniel Borenius of Ithaca by an 8-5 score. The pair came up short to RIT's Carter Casimor and Joel Pho in the finals, dropping an 8-2 decision.

Union will return home to host its own invitational next weekend, beginning with day one of the Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Union Tennis Courts.
