Day One Results
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team reached the finals in all four singles brackets on day one of the Dutchmen Invitational, held on Saturday at the Union Tennis Courts.

Union won three of its four matches in the "A" singles bracket, with both senior
Ioannis Binopoulos and junior
Aidan O'Brien both winning at least once. O'Brien came back to knock off Trinity's Ross DeRose, 4-6, 5-1, 10-4, and then moved into tomorrow's final by beating Oneonta's August LePique, 7-5, 1-0 (ret.). Binopoulos also won his first-round match against Oneonta's Matthew Reinhold, 6-0, 7-5, before falling in the semifinals.

Union also earned three wins in the "B" singles bracket as well. First-year
Ben Jacobs moved into the finals with a 6-4, 6-2 win over St. Lawrence's Cole Hamilton and a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Jacob Dornsife of Oneonta. Sophomore
Bailey McAtee also defeated Oneonta's Mason Spottek in the first round before falling in the semifinals.

First-year
Ian Schunk reached the finals of the "C" singles bracket, posting a 6-2, 6-3 win over Trinity's John Ginter and coming back to defeat SLU's Edvin Strandberg, 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.

In the "D" singles bracket, senior
Nick Weitzman advanced to the finals with a pair of victories, besting Trinity's Marcus Carlsson, 6-2, 7-5, and St. Lawrence's John Hill-Edgar, 6-4, 2-6, 10-3. First-year
Austin Gregory also picked up a win on Saturday, defeating Oneonta's Liam Khan, 6-1, 6-1.

Both Union entries in the "A" doubles bracket advanced to the semifinals as well. O'Brien and Weitzman remained undefeated on the day with an 8-6 win over St. Lawrence's Nico Haet and Nathan Turtledove, while Binopoulos and Jacobs knocked off Oneonta's Dornsife and Spottek, 8-4.
