Miles Ackerman and sophomore
Ethan Conrad of the Union College men's crew team won the men's double race as part of a strong day on the river for the Dutchmen at the New York State Championships held at Fish Creek.
Ackerman (stroke) and Conrad (bow) won with a time of 7:58.097, finishing 25.706 ahead of runner-up Clarkson University in a field that also hosted Dominican College, University of Rochester, and Skidmore College.
The nationally ranked Varisty 8+ team placed fourth in their race behind #11 Ithaca College, Army, and Ithaca's B team. The Dutchmen finished ahead of both Skidmore College and Vassar College with a time of 6:40.463, 34.457 behind Ithaca. The team consisted of sophomore

The Varsity 4+ team had their hands full in their heat, with only 4.030 seconds separating the top finisher Iona College (7:16.007) and the third-place Dutchmen (7:20.037). Union's time sent them on to the finals where they finished fourth overall with a time of 7:22.422 which was 19.362 off from Iona. First-year

The Novice 4+ team raced in a flight with Vassar College and St. John Fisher College, picking up a second-place finish behind the Brewers with a time of 8:29.460. Union's team was comprised of first-years DeRosa (coxswain),

The men's pair team of White (stroke) and Abdinoor (bow) finished third behind the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Iona with a time of 8:12.597, which was 20.517 behind the top finisher.
Union heads back to Saratoga Springs on Friday for the Liberty League Championships.
