Bodge and Livingston Secure All-Liberty League Honors

TROY, N.Y. – Juniors Wolfgang Bodge and Stuart Livingston of the Union College men's crew team were named to 2026 All-Liberty League teams, the conference office announced on Friday.

Bodge, earning the first postseason honor of his career, was one of eight to earn a spot on the All-Conference first team, and Livingston earned a spot among six others on the second team. Livingston tallied the second All-Conference nod of his career after garnering first-team honors as a sophomore.

Union was one of two teams (Skidmore) with two juniors on All-Liberty League teams, and Bodge was one of only three juniors on the first team.

Bodge and Livingston both rowed in eight regattas for Union during a successful 2025-26 campaign that saw the Garnet Chargers place third at the Liberty League Championship, marking the squad's best finish at the league's title race since 2018.

Livingston sat in the 5 seat during that race, which is where he competed all season. Bodge rowed from the third seat in the shell at the championship, as well as in his other five races as a member of Union's Varsity 8+.

Bodge began the season in the 5 seat of the Second Varsity 8+, participating in the first two regattas of the season with that crew before solidifying himself a spot in the First Varsity 8+ on his way to first-team honors from the conference.

Along with Union's best finish at Liberty Leagues in eight years, Bodge and Livingston helped propel Union to a pair of victories in 2025-26 as well. In Bodge's first race with the Varsity 8+, Union defeated Amherst, Bryant, and UMass on April 4, then closed out the season with a third-consecutive victory over St. Lawrence at the Great Adirondack Boat Race. Bodge and Livingston's crew, led by sophomore coxswain Erika Canaveralwas honored as the Liberty League's Boat of the Week after its performance on Long Lake against the Saints.
