POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Union College men's swimming and diving team raced to their second victory of the season, defeating Vassar College 155-128 Saturday afternoon at Kresge Pool.
The win marks the first victory over Vassar College since Feb. 7, 1998.

Drew Hill opened the meet with a big win, clocking a 1:39.54 in the first event.
Javier Jr. also added a win in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 56.65, and a third-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 2:19.77. Hill picked up a win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.85.
Kenvin added two first-place finishes on the afternoon. The junior won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.83 before racing to a season-best time in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:13.37.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Union went one-two with junior
Andrew Boyd winning the race with a time of 2:05.89 and first-year
Josh Hiller swimming a season-best time of 2:09.36. Hiller also registered a personal best in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:09.60.
Junior
Zack Panlilio placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle, clocking in at 10:19.51. He later added a season-best time in the 500-yard freestyle.
Senior
Jack Tucker won the 200-yard IM (2:02.15) and added a pair of second-place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.93 and in the 100-yard freestyle, with a season-best time of 49.39.
Kraus recorded a season-best time in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 56.51.
Junior
Bill Megas had three season-best swims today in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.63), the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.24), and the 200-yard IM (2:06.06). Megas placed third in all three races.
Union grabbed key points in the 50-yard freestyle with Hill (22.57), junior
Andre Thornton (22.86), and junior
Andrew Barton (23.25) placed second through fourth, respectively. Thornton and Barton both registered season-best times in the event. Barton also added a season-best time in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.87.
Junior
Jake Maier set a new personal best time in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:40.23, and narrowly edging out the final swimmer to capture the last available point.
On the boards, sophomore
Colin Farrell narrowly edged out a first-place finish in the 1-meter diving with a score of 183.52. Farrell went on to win the 3-meter diving with a score of 194.92.
Union is back in action tomorrow at home with a meet against Capital District rival Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The first event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m .at Alumni Gym Pool.
