ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Union College men's swimming and diving team earned a split in a tri-meet with Hartwick College and Springfield College, defeating Hartwick 164-132, and falling to Springfield 180-111 on Saturday afternoon at Moyer Pool.
The win marks the first for head coach
Molly Chamberlain and the first win over Hartwick since Jan. 4, 2014. Today's victory marks the first at Hartwick since Jan. 9, 2010. The victory is also the first for the program since Nov. 13, 2021, when the team defeated Skidmore College.
"The win against Hartwick was exciting," said Chamberlain. "The best part about the day was the energy and the excitement on the deck. This team is showing up for each other again and again. Proud to be at Union today!"

Walter Kraus, and senior
Jack Tucker set the tone for the Dutchmen early, edging out Springfield at the wall to capture a first-place finish with a time of 1:38.96.
Kenvin had a career day, setting personal bests in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles. The junior finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.75, almost a full second faster than his swim last week, and second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.40.
Juniors
Zach Matthews and
Andrew Boyd also had career days in the pool, with personal bests in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing with times of 23.35 and 24.02, respectively. Matthews also set a season-best time in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.26. Boyd captured a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a career-best time of 2:04.33. Josh Hiller placed second and third with a pair of season-best times of 57.16 and 59.45, respectively.
Junior
Zack Panlilio swam a season-best in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing the race in 10:16.65, almost 15 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
Javier Jr. earned a pair of first-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.41 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 2:21.05.
After anchoring the first-place 200-yard medley relay, Tucker set a pair of season-bests in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.84) and the 200 IM (2:01.54).
Junior
Bill Megas saw a new season-best in the 200-yard freestyle (1:07.30) and fellow junior,
Andrew Barton, also set a new season-best in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:55.58).
On the boards, sophomore
Colin Farrell earned a pair of fourth-place finishes out of seven divers. Farrell scored 186.65 on the 3-meter boards and 211.15 in the 1-meter diving.
The team will be off until Saturday, Jan. 21, when they travel to Poughkeepsie for a meet against Vassar College. The first event is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Kresge Pool.
