SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's crew team opened the 2023-24 season on Sunday at the Mohawk Fall Classic held at the Mohawk River.
The 3,000-meter race featured a relatively calm current with a slight tailwind.
Union's Collegiate 8+ A boat started the season with a win, narrowly edging out Clarkson University by 0.36 seconds. The Garnet Chargers finished the course in 13:08.18 and was comprised of senior

Union's Collegiate 8+ B boat took third, finishing the course in 13:48.38, ahead of both teams from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The team that competed for Union was junior

The Collegiate 4+ race was close, but a last-minute sprint by Clarkson saw the Golden Knights finish first by a little less than 10 seconds. The Union A boat finished the course in 14:51.28 and the B team finished fourth with a time of 16:08.25. Union's A boat was comprised of Griffin (coxswain), Hall (stroke), Abdinoor (3 seat), White (2 seat), and Chan (bow). The B boat was made up of junior
