SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's swimming and diving team continues their strong season with a 125-96 win over SUNY New Paltz Saturday afternoon at Alumni Gym Pool.
The 4-0 start in head-to-head competition marks the best start to a season since 1966 when the team won five in a row to open the campaign.

Winston Lee opened the meet with a first-place finish with a time of 3:35.83.
Senior
Zack Panlilio won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:23.52 and went on to win the 500-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 4:59.57.

Bill Megas raced to a season-best time of 1:48.17 in the 200-yard freestyle to place second.
The Garnet Chargers took the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle. Lee swam a season-best time of 22.55 to win the event. Seniors

Zach Matthews tied for second with a time of 23.25, marking a season-best time and personal-best time, respectively. Lee added a season-best time of 52.84 in the 100-yard butterfly to claim first-place.
Kenvin clinched the top spot in the 200-yard IM with a season-best time of 1:59.70. Senior captain
Andrew Boyd set a new personal best in the event with a time of 2:10.07.
Hill and Matthews took second and third, respectively, in the 100-yard freestyle. Hill was edged out at the wall to finish in 50.97, 0.45 seconds behind the Hawks' top finisher, and Matthews set a season-beset time of 52.32 for third.
On the boards, junior
Colin Farrell picked up 18 points for the Garnet Chargers with wins in the 3-meter and 1-meter diving.
Union is off next week before returning to the pool on Saturday, November 11 at Skidmore College. The first event is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Williamson Sports Center.
