SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Senior
Matt Kenvin won three individual events, but the Union College men's swimming and diving team fell 1to Liberty League rival Skidmore College, 1172-122, on Saturday afternoon at Williamson Sports Center.
Kenvin put together another strong showing in his senior campaign. The senior won the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 58.32. Kenvin was dominant in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:10.41, almost eight seconds faster than the second-place finisher, and turned in another big performance in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:00.95, just over six seconds faster than the next swimmer.
Senior
Bill Megas won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.37 and went on to earn a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.29.
Sophomore
Drew Hill was edged out at the wall, coming in half a second behind the first-place finisher in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.76. Hill raced to a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.89.
In a tightly contested event, junior
Colin Farrell earned the top spot in the 3-meter diving with a 199.95, edging out the second-place finisher by 3.52 points. Farrell won the 1-meter boards with 246.00 points.
Union is off for the next two weeks before making the trip to the Bomber Invitational on December 1 hosted by Ithaca College.
