TROY, N.Y. – First-year
Owen Everett of the Union College men's soccer team was recognized for his play this season with a spot on the All-Liberty League second team, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Everett had a solid rookie season for the Garnet Chargers as a first-year, leading the team in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points to rank fifth in the Liberty League in both goals and points. He started 18-of-19 matches in the midfield, scoring his first collegiate goal against nationally ranked Plattsburgh State University and adding non-conference tallies versus Albany Pharmacy and Elmira College. He recorded a pair of goals in conference play, striking against St. Lawrence University and adding a goal and an assist for a season-best three points in the season finale against Clarkson University.
As a team, Union finished the 2024 season with a 6-8-5 record. Including Everett, the team's three leading goal-scorers were all first-years this season, giving the team a solid foundation from which to work in 2025.
