SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Union College men's crew team's day was highlighted by a third-place finish by the Frosh/Novice 4+ boat in the grand final as part of a strong showing by the Garnet Chargers at the New York State Collegiate Championships on Saturday at Fish Creek.
The team faced a cross breeze that impacted the afternoon races with weather in the mid-50s.
The Frosh/Novice 4+ boat placed third in the grand final with a time of 8:23.237, 18 seconds back from the winning boat from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and only eight seconds back from the boat from Army. Union's third-place boat was made up of first-year

The men's Varsity 8+ finished first in the petit final with a time of 7:24.09. Union's boat was made up junior

The men's pair of White (stroke) and Chan (bow) finished third in their final with a time of 8:52.237.
Union returns to the water on Friday, May 3 at the Liberty League Championships hosted at Fish Creek.
