SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – In three highly competitive races, the Union College men's crew team enjoyed flat water and a slight tailwind for their senior day race against Vassar College on Saturday morning on the Mohawk River.

The Varsity 8+ boat was narrowly edged out in the final sprint, falling by only two seconds with a time of 5:45. Union's team was made up of junior Sarah DeRosa (coxswain), sophomore Sam Flynn (stroke), senior Braman Cronin (7 seat), junior Zach McConnell (6 seat), first-year Stuart Livingston (5 seat), senior Giani DiGennaro (4 seat), junior Alex Chan (3 seat), senior Harrison White (2 seat), and senior Cole Abdinoor (bow).

In a highly competitive Varsity 4+ race, Union put forth their Frosh/Novice 4+ team against Vassar's Varsity 4+. Union came in only six seconds behind with a time of 6:39. Union's boat was made up of junior Charlie Whiteford (coxswain), first-year Danny Bender (stroke), first-year Wolfgang Bodge (3 seat), first-year Tyler Perry (2 seat), and first-year Chase McDivitt (bow).

The 2nd Varsity 8+ finished nine seconds back from the winning Vassar boat. Union's team was comprised of senior Tony Griffin (coxswain), first-year Angus Hall (stroke), first-year Kenny Kromer (7 seat), sophomore Erik Roberts (6 seat), sophomore Cody Morrison (5 seat), junior Josh Vaidman (4 seat), sophomore Nick Meyer (3 seat), senior Bodhi Kunda (2 seat), and sophomore Josh Atkinson (bow).

After racing concluded for the day, Union honored the seven members of the senior class: Cole Abdinoor, Ethan Conrad, Braman Cronin, Giani DiGennaro, Tony Griffin, Bodhi Kunda, and Harrison White.  

Union is back in the water on Friday for the Liberty League Championships held on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs. A preview with the race schedule will be available on UnionAthletics.com prior to race day.
