SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's crew team returned to their home course on Saturday with a race against Amherst College and Clarkson University on the Mohawk River.

The teams faced a strong current and chilly conditions on the 1900km course.

In head-to-head competition, Union's Varsity 8+ boat of senior Tony Griffin (coxswain), first-year Angus Hall (stroke), junior Alex Chan (7 seat), senior Harrison White (6 seat), sophomore Benjamin Stern (5 seat), sophomore Erik Roberts (4 seat), senior Braman Cronin (3 seat), junior Zach McConnell (2 seat), and senior Cole Abdinoor (bow) defeated Clarkson with a time of 6:35.5, 40 seconds faster than the Golden Knights.

Union's Varsity 8+ B boat raced Amherst in a head-to-head competition and defeated the Mammoths by almost 49 seconds with a time of 6:40.06. Union's boat was made up of junior Sarah DeRosa (coxswain), Sam Flynn (stroke), sophomore Nick Meyer (7 seat), first-year Danny Bender (6 seat), first-year Stuart Livingston (5 seat), first-year Tyler Perry (4 seat), first-year Wolfgang Bodge (3 seat), senior Giani DiGennaro (2 seat), and sophomore Josh Atkinson (bow).

The Varsity 4+ boat finished in 8:07.4, approximately 25 seconds behind Clarkson. Union's team was comprised of junior Charlie Whiteford (coxswain), junior Josh Vaidman (stroke), first-year Kenny Kromer (3 seat), senior Ethan Conrad (2 seat), and sophomore Cody Morrison (bow).

The Garnet Chargers wrap up the home portion of the spring schedule next weekend against Vassar College. The first race is scheduled for 10:00am on the Mohawk River.
