CANTON, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team completed play at the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic, held at the Sammis Tennis Courts, on Sunday.
 
After a pair of wins yesterday to reach the "C" Singles semifinals, first-year Vivaan Gupta came up one break short in his bid for the finals, dropping an 8-6 match to eventual champion Gabriel Escobar of RIT.
 
In "A" Doubles action, both Union entries were knocked off by Hobart College tandems, as Ben Jacobs and first-year Jesus Sosa fell to Nick Grosso and Nicholas Fischer by a 6-1 score and seniors Austin Gregory and Seth Prusko dropped a 6-3 match to Troy Steiner and Jacob Linares.
 
In the "B" Doubles flight, sophomores Daniel Saxe and Solen Bellemare emerged from the first round with a 6-3 win over Kavin Shukla and Ahaan Malhotra of Rochester. However, the pair came up one break short to RIT's Escobar and Joel Pho in the quarterfinals, falling 6-4.
 
Union will take a break from individual play on Wednesday to begin its Liberty League schedule with a 4 p.m. match against Bard College at the Union Tennis Couirts.
