TROY, N.Y. – Eighty-five Union College student-athletes were recognized for their academic prowess by earning spots on the Liberty League Fall All-Academic Teams, the conference announced on Thursday morning.
 
The Liberty League's fall championship sports include men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

Over 50 percent (43 of 85) of Union's honorees are repeat selections to the All-Academic Team, while 13 student-athletes were selected for the maximum third straight season. The football team led all fall sports with 25 selections, followed by the women's soccer team with 16 selections. The women's volleyball set a new program standard with 11 selections and were joined by the field hockey and men's soccer teams in a tie for third place among Union teams.
