Greco Earns Second Straight NFHCA All-America Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior Maddie Greco made more history for the Union College field hockey team on Tuesday, as the star forward was recognized for the second straight season as one of the top Division III student-athletes in the country with one of 48 spots on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America Teams, sponsored by Apex Field Hockey.

Greco was named to the All-America second team for the second year in a row, making her the first player in program history to earn multiple NFHCA All-America honors and single-handedly doubling the number of field hockey All-Americans from two to four.

Greco has racked up the honors over her first three seasons with the field hockey team, adding her second All-America honor to a list of achievements that includes three straight NFHCA All-Region selections, back-to-back All-ECAC Team and Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year recognition, three straight All-Liberty League first-team laurels, and the 2023 Liberty League Rookie of the Year award.

"We are so proud of Maddie for again earning this honor," said head coach Kelly Harchetts. "Her grit and determination to fight through anything that comes her way, and doing so with a smile on her face, has led her to this well deserved recognition this season. She displays the mentality of a champion every time she is on the field for us, and we are so fortunate to have another year with her."

Greco followed up a record-setting sophomore season with another stellar year as a junior, scoring 16 goals with a career-high eight assists for 40 points in 2025. She finished the year tied for the Liberty League lead in both points and assists while ranking second in goals and game-winning goals (four). The forward played a role in all four Union goals in the Liberty League Tournament, registering a goal and three assists in two games, and had at least one point in 8-of-9 games against conference foes this year.

Greco has already smashed several program records over her first three years in Schenectady, and will enter her senior year as Union's all-time leader in goals and points with 49 goals and 14 assists for 112 points in 60 games, while also ranking second in career game-winning goals (12) and ninth in assists at Union. Greco finished her junior year as Division III's active leader in goals and points among non-seniors.

With Greco leading the way, Union earned a second straight share of the Liberty League regular-season title and a top-two seed in the postseason with a 13-8 (5-2 Liberty League) record, as well as the first conference tournament victory in program history.
