SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Members of the Union College field hockey team have been recognized for academic achievement during the Fall 2025 trimester by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, as 11 Union student-athletes were named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad and three players were recognized as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction.
Junior
Molly Halliday, sophomore
Francesca Sullivan and first-year
Lily Durivage all received the prestigious Scholar of Distinction honor, which is given to student-athletes who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 or higher through the first trimester of the 2025-26 academic year. Halliday and Sullivan both are recognized for the second time in their careers, while Durivage is a first-time recipient. The trio give Union 20 honorees since 2012 to earn the exclusive distinction and make them three of 543 Division III student-athletes to receive the recognition this year.
The three honorees and eight of their teammates were recognized on the NFHCA Div. III National Academic Squad, which is sponsored by OPA Winning Teams and honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the first semester or trimester of the academic year. Union also succeeded on the field in 2025, sharing the Liberty League regular-season title for the second straight season while earning the first conference tournament win and first conference championship game appearance in program history. The team earned five All-Liberty League honors, including Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row, in addition to three NFHCA All-Region selections and the program's fourth NFHCA All-American.
