Field Hockey Trio Recognized on NFHCA All-Region Teams

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – For the second straight season, three members of the Union College field hockey team represented the Garnet Chargers on the 2025 NFHCA All-Region Teams, sponsored by Apex Field Hockey, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Wednesday morning. Junior Maddie Greco and senior Megan Dorsey were named to the All-Region III first team, while sophomore Rowan Dapson was named to the second team.

Greco and Dorsey are the second set of teammates in program history to earn All-Region first-team honors in the same season, joining Greco and Sophie Brady from a year ago. The three total honorees are also tied for the second-most for a Union side in a single season and give Union a program-record-tying six over a two-year span, a number matched only by the 1988-89 and 1987-88 seasons. In earning All-Region recognition for the third straight season, Greco and Dorsey become only the fourth and fifth players in program history to record three such honors in a career.

Greco is one of five forwards named to the All-Region first team, becoming the first player in program history (and sixth ever at Union in any sport) to earn All-Region honors in each of their first three collegiate seasons. The two-time Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year scored 16 goals with a career-high eight assists for 40 points as a junior, tying for the Liberty League lead in both points and assists while ranking second in goals and game-winning goals (four). The forward played a role in all four Union goals in the Liberty League Tournament, registering a goal and three assists in two games, and had at least one point in 8-of-9 games against conference foes this year. Through three seasons, Greco already is Union's all-time leader in goals and points with 49 goals and 14 assists for 112 points in 60 games, and her totals rank her as Division III's active leader in goals and points among non-seniors.

Dorsey joins Greco in earning All-Region honors for the third consecutive season, earning one of seven first-team spots in the midfield. The two-year captain scored six goals with seven assists for 19 points while starting all 21 games in her final season, tying for eighth in the Liberty League in points and fourth in assists this year while recording at least one point in 11 matches. Dorsey finished her decorated career first all-time at Union with 29 assists and also scored 22 goals for 73 career points, placing her seventh on the school's career points list. Her 29 helpers ended the year 12th in Division III in career assists among active players.

Dapson earns the first All-Region honor of her career after an excellent sophomore season on the defensive end for the Garnet Chargers. In addition to her work on the defensive side of the ball, the All-Liberty League second-teamer also scored a career-best two goals and added four assists for eight points while starting all 21 games. She has played every game in her first two years at Union, registering three goals and nine assists for 15 points.

The All-Region trio helped Union to a second straight share of the Liberty League regular-season title and a top-two seed in the postseason, as well as the first conference tournament victory in program history. Two of the three All-Region honorees are slated to return in 2026, when the Garnet Chargers will look to continue their upward trajectory and once again vie for the program's first conference title.
