TROY, N.Y. – Twenty-five Union College student-athletes were recognized for academic success by earning spots on the Liberty League Winter All-Academic Teams, the conference announced on Thursday.
The Liberty League's winter championship sports include men's and women's basketball, swimming & diving and squash. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, have a year of residence on campus, and achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.
Over 55 percent (14) of Union's honorees are new selections to the All-Academic Team, while seven seniors were selected for the maximum third straight season. The women's swimming and diving team led all winter sports with a team-record 11 selections, followed by the women's basketball team with eight honorees, the men's basketball team with five and the men's swimming & diving team with one.
