TROY, N.Y. – Senior
Julia Cole and sophomore
Sarah Hannan of the Union College women's crew team were named to the 2025 All-Liberty League teams, the conference office announced on Thursday.
Cole was one of 10 Liberty League rowers to earn a spot on the All-Conference first team, while Hannan earned one of nine spots on the second team. Cole is recognized for the second time in the last three years after a second-team honor in 2022-23, while it is the first All-Liberty League honor for Hannan.
Cole was one of only two Garnet Chargers to race in a varsity boat in all nine competitions this season, sitting in the varsity 8+ boat on six occasions and the varsity 4+ boat three times. She held down the six-seat in every varsity 8+ race in her final season, while also splitting time between the two- and three-seat in the varsity 4 races. Hannan also competed in nine races as a sophomore, including five varsity 8+ races, two varsity 4+ races and two second varsity 4+ competitions. She sat in the stroke seat in all four 4+ races on the year and split time between the three- and four-seats in the eight boat.
Cole finished her collegiate career by taking third place as part of the varsity 4+ boat at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta. Hannan sat in the stroke seat at the varsity 4+ that started the year with a win at the Mohawk Fall Classic, as well as the second varsity 4+ boat that took top honors at both the New York State Championships and the Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championships and earned Liberty League Boat of the Week honors.
