SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Union College women's hockey coach Tony Maci has announced eight newcomers for the upcoming season, with two transfers and six first years set to join the program for the 2025-26 season. Representing three states and three Canadian provinces, the class is comprised of four forwards, three defenseman, and one goaltender, all of whom will look to make an immediate impact on the program.
"The incoming class of eight is one our staff is extremely excited about," said Maci. "There is a lot of talent and grit that will help us continue to grow as a program. They are ready to kick off their careers at the new M&T Bank Center and make it a special place."
Natalie Andelova • First Year • 5-5 • Forward • Shoots: L • Laveen Village, Ariz. • Gilmour Academy (USHS W)
Prior to Union: Played three years of hockey at Gilmour Academy…named the team's Offensive Most Valuable Player and the school's Most Valuable Female Athlete as a senior scoring 29 goals and adding 31 assists in 60 games played…also a National Honor Society and high honors student at Gilmour.
From Coach Maci: "Natalie brings a lot of determination and skill to our lineup. She has the ability to make players around her better and distributes the puck well. Natalie has the ability to slow and speed the game up when she has the puck, allowing her to create time and space."
Megan Duplantie • First Year • 5-7 • Forward • Shoots: L • Laval, Québec • Connecticut Polar Bears
Prior to Union: Spent four years at Kent School and with the Connecticut Polar Bears followed by a post-graduate season at Loomis Chaffee…tallied 15 goals and 8 assists in 24 games, helping Loomis capture a 2024-25 season NEPSAC title.
From Coach Maci: "Megan plays with a lot of speed and grit. She brings a lot of energy every shift and makes everyone around her better. She will add depth to our team down the middle, as she plays a strong 200 ft game."
Hayley Kelleher • Sophomore • 5-5 • Forward • Shoots: L • Natick, Mass. • Clarkson University (ECAC)
Prior to Union: Attended Clarkson University as a first year…did not play in any games for the Golden Knights. Played for Lovell Academy for two seasons prior to Clarkson…averaged over a point per game during her two years, scoring 80 goals with 76 assists for 156 points in 149 games…earned Offensive Player of the Year honors in both seasons…left with Lovell records for single-season and career goals, assists and points.
From Coach Maci: "Hayley is a smart positional player who has the ability to find herself in great spots in the offensive zone. She uses her hockey sense, shot and skill well around the net and will add some offense to our forward group."
Reanna Loberg • First Year • 5-8 • Forward • Shoots: L • Grand Prairie, Alberta • Edmonton Jr. Oilers (AFHL)
Prior to Union: Played for the Edmonton Jr. Oilers of the AFHL in 2024-25 after two seasons with the Northern Alberta Xtreme…recorded six goals and 15 assists for 21 points in 28 regular-season games with the Oilers…had four points in six playoff games in helping Edmonton to an Alberta Provincial championship, a Pacifici Regional Championship, and a Canadian U18 National Championship (Esso Cup) in the 2024-25 season…named the team's Best Defensive Player.
From Coach Maci: "Reanna brings a lot of grit and strength to our forward group. Her hockey sense allows her to find the back of the net, and her speed gives her the time and space to make plays. She plays a hard 200 ft game that fits the collegiate game."
Peyton O'Neill • Sophomore • 5-6 • Defense • Shoots: L • Hindsdale, Ill. • Long Island University (NEWHA)
Prior to Union: Attended Long Island University as a first year…played in 22 games for the Sharks, recording a pair of assists…picked up her first collegiate point with an assist against Saint Michael's (1/31).
From Coach Maci: "Peyton brings a year of collegiate experience. She plays with a lot of speed and will be able to provide added offense from the back end. We are excited to see her in garnet this season."
Isabel Powers • First Year • 5-5 • Defense • Shoots: L • Scottsdale, Ariz. • Lovell Academy
Prior to Union: Played for Lovell Academy in 2024-25 after three seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program recorded 50 points in 80 games with Lovell, scoring nine goals with 41 assists...led the team in assists and ranked second in points…earned the team's Best Defenseman Award.
From Coach Maci: "Isabel plays with a lot of grit all over the ice. She is reliable defensively, makes a good first past, and her hockey sense allows her to play strong in both ends of the rink."
Emma Rhéaume • First Year • 5-7 • Goaltender • Catches: L• Neuville, Québec • Cegep Limoilou Titans (QCHL)
Prior to Union: Spent the last three years playing with the Cegep Limoilou Titans of the QCHL…posted a 25-8-0 record, 1.69 goals against average and .927 save percentage with seven shutouts in 33 regular-season games…went 6-1-0 with two shutouts in seven postseason games, helping the team to back-to-back QCHL titles.
From Coach Maci: "Emma comes to us with a lot of playing experience in big games. She is a calming influence to her team when she is in the net. Emma plays with patience and confidence and allows her athleticism to help her make every save."
Kaitlyn Toner • First Year • 5-10 • Defense • Shoots: R • Aurora, Ontario • Toronto Jr. Aeros (OWHL)
Prior to Union: Spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Aeros U22 team in the OWHL…captained the Aeros in her final season and earned the team's True Aero Award…tallied 8 goals and 40 assists for 48 points in 139 games played...led the team in points in both seasons...represented Team Orange at the Ontario Summer Games in 2022.
From Coach Maci: "Kaitlyn brings size, strength, and solid defensive play to our back end. She has the ability to get pucks through to the net in the offensive zone and plays phsyical defensively."
Union fans will get their first opportunity to see the incoming class and their new home, M&T Bank Center, Friday, September 26, with a 6:00 pm faceoff set against Franklin Pierce University.
