Women's Swimming & Diving Battles #20 Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – The Union College women's swimming & diving team competed against the 20th-ranked Mammoths of Amherst College, falling 238-54 on Saturday afternoon at Pratt Pool.

First-year Charlotte Auth, first-year Julia Garber, junior Samantha Picciotti, and junior Grace Furtado kicked off the 2026 calendar for Union with a 2:02.47 in the 200 medley relay, finishing fourth.

First-year Cate Kavanaugh placed third in the 1,000 freestyle (12:16.91) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:51.41).

Junior Chloe Matthews secured a pair of third-place finishes as well, going 2:03.34 in the 200 freestyle and 2:18.73 in the 200 individual medley.

Junior Jess Konsky reached the podium with third-place performances in the 100 backstroke (1:04.73) and the 200 backstroke (2:16.69).

Garber was the fastest Garnet Charger in three events, posting a 1:15.79 in the 100 breaststroke, a 58.74 in the 100 freestyle, and a 1:05.59 in the 100 butterfly.

First-year Lucia Lazarus touched the wall in 2:27.43 in the 200 butterfly, first-year Ali Sweeney posted a 2:40.08 in the 200 breaststroke, and sophomore Maggie Clifford finished fourth off the 1-meter diving board with 127.20 points.

In the 50 freestyle, first-years Mya Schattin and Maggie Reale finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Reale, Matthews, senior Alison Silver, and Schattin capped off the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:45.09).

The Garnet Chargers visit Hartwick College on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. for a trimeet against the Hawks and Springfield College.
