COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior Maddie Greco and junior Rowan Dapson of the Union College field hockey team were named to the 2026 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Preseason Watchlist, powered by Performance Sports Events, the NFHCA announced on Thursday.
 
Both of Union's All-Region performers from last season were named to the NFHCA Watchlist, which recognizes field hockey student-athletes who have demonstrated a high level of achievement and are considered among those with strong potential for NFHCA All-Region and All-American consideration this season.
 
Greco returns to the watchlist for the third straight season after another stellar campaign as a junior, netting 16 goals with a career-high eight assists for 40 points. The two-time reigning Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year and a two-time NFHCA All-America second-team selection, Greco finished the year tied for the Liberty League lead in both points and assists while ranking second in goals and game-winning goals (four). She already ranks as Union's all-time leader in goals and points with 49 goals and 14 assists for 112 points in 60 games, while also ranking second in career game-winning goals (12) and ninth in assists at Union. Greco enters her senior season second among active Division III players in career goals, one behind Grayson Scott of the University of Mary Washington, and is tied with SUNY Geneseo's Ella Greico and Colby-Sawyer College's Brooke Farquhar as Division III's active leader in career points. 

Dapson earns her first spot on the watchlist as a junior after earning NFHCA All-Region second-team honors during her sophomore season. A two-time All-Liberty League second-team honoree over her first two seasons, she started all 21 games on defense and in the midfield while also scoring a career-best two goals with four assists for eight points in 2025. She has played every game in her first two years at Union, registering three goals and nine assists for 15 points.
 
Union received three first-place votes and 45 points to narrowly sit behind preseason favorite Vassar College (47 points) in the Liberty League preseason poll, as the Garnet Chargers look for a return trip to the conference championship game. Union gets the 2026 season underway beginning on Tuesday with a 5 p.m. matchup against VTSU Castleton at Frank Bailey Field at Bertagna-Class of 1985 Stadium.
