Junior defenseman Charles Simard (Aylmer, Quebec/Kindersley Composite) was named the Eastern College Athletic Association's "Defensive Player of the Week" after helping the Skating Dutchmen snap a nine-game losing streak against Hockey East teams with a 4-2 victory over Merrimack. Simard, who had two goals as a freshman, scored twice in the third period against the Warriors.
