Union sweeps Colby, 10-9 and 5-1, in Rivenburg's coaching debut

TAMPA, FLUnion celebrated the debut of rookie head coach Jeremy Rivenburg by opening their 10-game spring trip with a doubleheader sweep of Colby, 10-9, and 5-1.

Sophomore Ben Brown was among the hitting stars for the Dutchmen in the opener as he belted a three-run double in the fourth and scored what proved to be the winning run in the seventh. Dan Mehleisen started his senior season off with a bang as he stroked four singles in as many at bats and scored twice. Classmate Andrew Street contributed a double and a single while scoring twice and driving in a run.

Junior Frank Arcuri picked up the pitching win in relief of freshman starter Eric Giovannone.

Senior Dave Masi tossed a complete-game four-hitter for Union in the nitecap. Massi fanned six and walked two. Junior Adam Chadwick contributed two hits, a run scored and an rbi in four at bats for the Dutchmen.
