Flanagan, Eisenhut help Dutchmen split with Golden Knights

Mike Flanagan and Cliff Eisenhut each drove in three runs to back the complete-game pitching of Dave Masi to lead Union to a 15-5 win over Clarkson in the second game of an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association doubleheader. The Golden Knights won the opener, 7-1.

Eisenhut had a pair of doubles among this three hits while Flanagan stroked three singles and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Jim Griglun contributed a double and single and scored three times while Kyle Murphy and Matt Smith each stroked a pair of singles and also crossed the plate three times. Masi, meanwhile, struck out five and walked only one.

In the opener, the Knights used a 10-hit attack, which was led by a four-for-four effort by second baseman JJ Lorence. Griglun, Brian Rhone and Adam Chused accounted for the Dutchmen's three hits.

The split left the Garnet with a 3-3 conference record and an overall mark of 8-10. Clarkson, meanwhile, is now 4-2 in the UCAA and 10-11 overall.
