SALEM, VA -- The three Union College representatives ended their collegiate careers with strong performances in the 2009 Division III Football Senior Classic Game in Salem Stadium Saturday. Colin Berry, Tim Furcillo and John Peters all were instrumental in the North team's 14-0 victory over the South team.

Berry and Furcillo helped lead an offensive line that did not allow the South team to post a sack. The defensive front for the South team included some former Division I players who had transferred to Division III programs. The line for the North squad also aided in the production of a 100 yard rusher and a rushing touchdown. Peters starred with an interception, and returned it to the North 10 yard line.

The Liberty League had an excellent day overall. Rochester TE Pedro Sosa had a touchdown reception and St. Lawrence DT Gerard Bryant had six sacks on the day. Berry, Furcillo, Peters, Sosa and Bryant were all Liberty League First Team All Stars in 2009.

Following the game at a banquet honoring the participants, Peters was acknowledged for his inclusion as one of the 10 national finalists for the Gagliardi Trophy.
