SCHENECTADY, NY -- Union College senior
Tiffany Ippoliti has been named the 2010 Liberty League Co-Pitcher of the Year. In addition the Dutchwomen coaching staff, featuring first year head coach Jordan Stevens and assistant coach Abby Arceneaux, were named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.
Ippoliti was also a unanimous first team all star selection, and was joined on the first team by third baseman
Ashley Kovack and catcher
Nina Cervini. The second team featured second baseman
Callee Heywood, shortstop
Lauren Hoffman and pitcher
Ginni Sack.

Coaching Staff of the Year
Head Coach Jordan Stevens
In his first season guiding the Dutchwomen, Stevens led Union to the Liberty League regular season title with a 7-1 record. His team enters the first ever post season tournament as the host and is 26-8 overall. Union leads the league in both batting (.323) and pitching (2.12), as well as on base percentage, hits and doubles. Stevens was joined by assistant coach Abby Arceneaux.

Co-Pitcher of the Year and First Team Pitcher
Tiffany Ippoliti
Ippoliti is 13-3 with a 2.03 ERA. She has won five straight since April 21 and ranks in the top three in the league in wins, ERA, opp. avg., K's, and saves. She pitched a five inning perfect game vs. Mount St. Mary and had shutout wins over Hope and Skidmore. Ippoliti is a two time Liberty League Pitcher of the Week. She has six appearances with no runs allowed and 12 with one or less. She struck out 10 Plattsburgh State batters and has five games of seven or more K's. Since April 6, she is 10-1, and is 4-0 with a 1.79 ERA in league appearances.

First Team Infielder
Ashley Kovack
Kovack is batting .364 with eight doubles and 23 RBIs. She has started at third base all season. She leads the league in triples and is seventh in batting. She is tied for second in doubles on the team. Kovack opened the season with a 12 game hitting streak and has hit safely in all but nine games. She had three hits vs. Wisconsin-Stevens and Skidmore and had three RBIs vs. Utica.

First Team Catcher
Nina Cervini
Cervini is batting .415 with 14 doubles and 36 RBIs. She leads the Liberty League in RBIs and doubles, is second in batting and hits, fourth in slugging and fifth in on base percentage. She earned a Liberty League Performer of the Week honor and has hit safely in 26 of the 32 games. She has 11 multi-hit games, and leads Union in home runs and five other categories. Cervini had three hits vs. Bowdoin, Lawrence, Staten Island, Middlebury and Oswego. She drove in four vs. Hope, had 12 RBIs in four game span in Florida, and has 11 games with two or more RBIs.

Second Team Infielder
Callee Heywood
Heywood is hitting .389 with eight doubles, 19 RBIs and six steals. She has been the starter at second base throughout the season. She is third in the league in batting and runs. She has a 12 game hitting streak entering the tournament and has hit safely in 19 of her last 20 games. Heywood has 11 mutli-hit games, including three hits each in games vs. Lawrence, Mount St. Mary and both Utica games. She was named a Liberty League Performer of the Week and leads the Dutchwomen in runs and is second in stolen bases and RBIs.

Second Team Infielder
Lauren Hoffman
Hoffman has a .319 batting average and four steals with eight RBIs. She has started at shortstop throughout the season. She has only made errors in five games, and had three hits in win over Staten Island and victory over Rochester. She has had five two-hit games, and drove in three vs. Plattsburgh State. Hoffman has only struck out once all season, in 91 at bats.

Second Team Pitcher
Ginni Sack
Sack is 13-5 with a 2.02 ERA. She became Union's all time career victory leader, and enters the tournament with 61. She is also second all time in innings pitched. A three time Liberty League Pitcher of the Week, Sack ranks second in the league in ERA, third in opponent batting average and fourth in innings. She has had 10 appearances without an earned run and posted a one hit shutout vs. New Paltz. She has had 13 games with four or less hits, struck out seven Plattsburgh batters, is 6-1 with two saves since April 18 and has a 1.05 ERA in 26.2 league innings.
