Chu to take part in the 2012 Women's Four Nations Cup

SCHENECTADY, NY -- In the midst of the 2012-13 collegiate season for the Dutchwomen ice hockey team, assistant coach Julie Chu, will participate in the Four Nations Cup starting today at 9 a.m. (EST) against Sweden.

The Four Nations Cup is an annual tournament held by Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States every November. The United States have earned four gold medals and 11 silver medals in 15 appearences since the tournament began in 1986.

The Fairfield, Conn. native has had a prestigious playing career, which includes accolades such as the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award in 2007 during her senior campaign with Harvard and serving as assistant captain and guiding Team USA to the Silver Medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.

As a member with the Women's National Team, Chu has played 25 games since the Olympics, scoring five goals and 10 assists to combine for 15 points.

Members of Team USA include former coach of the Dutchwomen coaching staff in Katey Stone, current head coach of the women's ice hockey team at Harvard, 12 current student-athletes and 13 players either currently playing or played professionally before.

Team USA will play at least three games with matches against Sweden, Canada and Finland throughout the week. The medal round games will be held, Saturday, November 10.
