FINAL RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. - The Union college women's swimming and diving teams fell to Ithaca College on Saturday with a score of 196-100. The Dutchwomen collectively won five events, while many swimmers claimed top-three spots.
Priscilla Wright dominated in three events against the Bombers. Leading the Dutchwomen, the senior finished the 100-yard free in 54.82 seconds. She also took the 200-yard free and the 50-yard free with times of 2:04.07 and 24.94 seconds, respectively.
Continuing her win-streak, freshman
Anne Trojanowski won two events, as well. The rookie claimed first in the 1,000-yard free with a time of 10:53.54 and swam in at 5:21.35 to win the 500-yard free. It was the third time Trojanowski has took first-place in the 1,000-yard free this season, and the fifth time she has won the 500-yard free this season.
Lexi Bascom was one of several Dutchwomen to earn a second-place finish. The senior clocked in at 1:01.90 in the 100-yard back, just .12 seconds away from first-place. Sophomore
Madeline Ashworth trailed Trojanowski in the 1,000-yard free, finishing in 11:02.80 for second-place. Fellow sophomore
Rachel Clegg claimed second in the 200-yard breast, swimming in at 2:37.68.
Junior
Diana Fletcher took third in the 100-yard free with a time of 57.65 seconds, while Bascom also swam in for third with 2:15.32 in the 200-yard back.
Union earned another first-place finish in the 400-yard free relay. The squad of Bascom, sophomore
Sarah Bradner, Fletcher and Wright collectively swam a time of 3:45.78.
The Ithaca meet conclues the Dutchwomen's 2011-2012 season. The UNYSCSA Championships are set to take place February 22-25th.
