Union (9-6-4 overall) broke a scoreless tie by snapping LSSU's run of 31 straight penalty kills with a power-play goal at 8:10 of the second period. Sophomore forward Daniel Ciampini tallied the lone Dutchmen goal with assists from Kyle Bodie and Greg Coburn.

The Lakers responded with three unanswered goals and three more successfully killed penalties. Sophomore forward Andrew Dommett scored his first collegiate goal at 12:09 of the second period to tie it, 1-1. Sophomore defenseman Kevin Czuczman drew the only assist.

Senior forward Domenic Monardo notched LSSU's game-winning goal at the 42-second mark of the third period. Junior forward Dan Radke and senior forward Nick McParland tallied the assists on the game-winning goal.

Sophomore forward Buddy Robinson tallied LSSU's first short-handed goal of the season at 9:21 of the third period to make it 3-1. Junior defenseman Andrew Perrault intercepted a pass in LSSU's zone to set up the break-away.

The Lakers were 1-for-4 on the power-play and held Union to 1-for-6. Junior goalie Kevin Murdock made 28 saves for the Lakers while recording the win. Colin Stevens totaled 26 saves for Union.
