SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San Jose Sharks have re-signed former Union College men's hockey goaltender Troy Grosenick to a two-year contract, as announced by Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson on Tuesday.
Grosenick was named the winner of the Aldege "Baz" Bastien Award as the American Hockey League's (AHL) top goaltender, finishing the season with an AHL-best 10 shutouts and ranking second in wins (30), tied for second in save percentage (.926), and third in goals-against average (2.04).
The Brookfield, Wis.c native helped the San Jose Barracuda to its first Western Conference Finals in franchise history, posting an 8-7 record with a 2.69 goal-against average, a .910 save percentage and two shutouts.
A 2012 AHCA/CCM First-Team All-American and the 2012 ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year, Grosenick boasted a program-best 1.86 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage in 69 career appearances for the Dutchmen.
