The No. 20 Dutchmen hit the road for the first time this season, taking on No. 12 Northeastern for a two-game series this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20. Both games in Boston are slated for 7 p.m. (ET) starts.

vs Northeastern
Union renews its series with Northeastern after an 11 year hiatus, as the last meeting between the two teams was on Dec. 8, 2007. In that meeting, the two teams tied 1-1 at Messa Rink. The Dutchmen enter the weekend with a 1-3-1 overall record against the Huskies with the only win for Union happening back on Dec. 29, 2001. The last time the two teams played in Boston was on Oct. 21, 2006, and the Huskies won 5-0. This will be the first time Union and Northeastern have played in a two-game series.
Scouting the Huskies
Northeastern enters the weekend as the 12th-ranked team in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine national polls.
The Huskies opened their season last weekend, Oct. 12-13, with two wins at Sacred Heart, winning 5-2 and 5-0. A total of 12 skaters recorded points for the Huskies in that series, with nine different skaters scoring the 10 goals. Seniors Lincoln Griffin and Liam Pecararo led the way, each recording four points over the weekend. Two Northeastern freshmen also recorded their first collegiate points in the series, as Jordan Harris finished with one goal and two assists, while Tyler Madden was the only Husky to score two goals.
In net, sophomore Cayden Primeau played both games, making 49 stops for a .961 saver percentage and 1.00 goals-against average against Sacred Heart.
Last Time Out
Cole Maier had a five-point weekend to help the Dutchmen to a 3-3 tie and a 5-4 win against Omaha this past weekend, Oct. 12-13.
Liam Morgan also had a stellar weekend, scoring three goals, including the game-winner on Saturday. Despite the Mavericks scoring seven goals over the weekend,
Jake Kupsky only conceded two even-strength goals as Omaha scored five on the man advantage.

Jake Kupsky made 26 saves in the contest, and only conceded one even-strength goal.

Anthony Rinaldi and
Liam Morgan had two-goal nights. Rinaldi's three points (2g, 1a) is a career best for the junior. Union and Omaha both scored three power-play goals.
Two of Omaha's goals came on 5-on-3 advantages. Union scored three goals in the second period and never trailed after.
Jake Kupsky only conceded one even-strength goal and ended with 24 saves on the night.
Best of the Week
After a five-point weekend,
Cole Maier was named ECAC Hockey's first Player of the Week for the 2017-18 season. Maier had a hand in all three Union goals in the Oct. 12 game against Omaha, scoring once and tallying two assists. He followed that up with two assists in the finale against the Mavericks.
20 Goalies To Watch
Senior goaltender
Jake Kupsky has been named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List for the 2018-19 season. The award annually honors the most outstanding goaltender in NCAA Division I men's hockey. The winner of the sixth annual award will be announced at the 2019 NCAA Men's Frozen Four in Buffalo, N.Y.
Kupsky returns for his senior year after being named to the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team last season. During the 2017-18 campaign he posted the third-best winning percentage in the league (10-2-1) with a .917 save percentage and 2.43 goals-against average in conference action.
Returning Offense
The Dutchmen return 92 goals from last season, which ranks 10th most in the nation. Union scored a total of 115 goals last year, 20 of which were scored by
Ryan Scarfo, and 14 of the top 15 goal scorers from last season return this year.
Senior Leadership
Union's current senior class ranked 10th in the country last year for class scoring, having produced 48 goals and 87 assists. Six of the senior skaters recored at least eight points during the year, and
Cole Maier led the class last year with 11 goals and 23 assists.
Overall,
Brett Supinski leads the group in career points with 26 goals and 59 assists, while
Sebastian Vidmar leads the class in career goals with 30 goals, in addition to his 51 assists.
Look Who's Back: Forwards
Union returns 14 forwards from the 2017-18 season.
Cole Maier is the top returning offensive producer, having totaled 11 goals and 23 assists last season. Fellow senior
Sebastian Vidmar was third on the team in scoring, producing 10 goals and 20 assists.
Anthony Rinaldi was fourth-overall but second on the team in goals, totaling 17 goals and 11 assists last season.
Brett Supinski rounded out the top-five scorers for the Dutchmen last year, scoring nine goals and tallying 19 assists.

The Dutchmen return six defensemen from the 2017-18 season.
Greg Campbell and
Vas Kolias both totaled three goals and 14 assists each last season, as they are Union's top returning offensive producers on the blue line.

Look Who's Back: Goaltenders
Union returns all three goaltenders from last season. Senior
Jake Kupsky led the trio last season with 25 games played, securing a 11-11-2 record (10-2-1 in ECAC Hockey), with a .917 save percentage and a 2.43 goals-against average.
Sophomore
Darion Hanson had a stellar freshman season, posting a 10-4-0 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.32 goals-against average. Hanson began his career winning six of his first seven games.
Senior
Joe Young returns as Union's third goalie. Young has played a total of 61:35 during his career and holds a perfect 1.000 save percentage having stopped all 26 shots he's faced in his time at Union.
