BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Union College women's golf team sits in seventh place after day one of the NYU Fall Invitational, hosted by New York University at the Forest Hill Field Club on Saturday.
The Dutchwomen carded a team round of 368 on Saturday's first day, six shots back of Vassar College and 22 shots behind Mount Holyoke College for a spot in the top-five. Williams College is the leader after day one following a round of 319, 10 strokes ahead of the host Violets.
It was a tough day for scoring on Saturday, as only five players in the field of 54 cracked 80 on the par-72 setup. Junior
Juls Sweet was Union's top scorer on the day, carding a round of 89 to sit in a tie for 29th place at the midway point of the weekend.

Molly Wiener followed with a 91 that ties her for 32nd place and puts her one stroke ahead of junior
Lisa Spagnuolo at 92. Freshman
Alexandra Cymbal followed with a 96 and sophomore
Ashley Harding finished with a 97 on day one to round out Union's scoring quintet.

Kiara Beckham competed as individuals on Saturday, with both players carding rounds of 98.
The Dutchwomen will be back on the course early tomorrow for day two of the NYU Fall Invitational beginning at 8:30 a.m.
