WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Union College women's golf team shot a round of 359 to sit in 10th place after day one of the Williams College Fall Invitational, held at Taconic Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.
The Dutchwomen finished the day just one stroke back of 10th-place Mount Holyoke College after a challenging day on a challenging course. The host Ephs lead after day one following a round of 312, five strokes better than Wellesley College.
Junior
Lisa Spagnuolo led Union on day one, carding a round of 87 to sit in a tie for 34th place out of 73 golfers. Senior
Molly Wiener and sophomore
Ashley Harding both cracked 90 as well with rounds of 89 that were good for a 45th-place tie at the midway point of the weekend.
Sophomore
Kiara Beckham (94) and freshman
Alexandra Cymbal (95) rounded out Union's five-player team, while junior
Juls Sweet (94) and freshman
Colleen Buckley (102) competed as individuals on day one.
The Dutchwomen will be back on the course tomorrow morning for day two starting at 9 a.m.
