Anthony Rinaldi has been a four-year mainstay in the lineup for the men's hockey team, appearing in 140 games during his tenure in Schenectady. He broke out with a big sophomore season, scoring 17 goals with 11 assists for 28 points, including five game-winning goals that tie for fifth on the school single-season list. He led the team in scoring as a senior, netting nine goals with a team-best 20 assists for 29 points. He finished his career with 40 goals and 44 assists for 84 points as a Dutchman, including nine game-winning goals.
What has been your favorite moment as a student-athlete at Union?
Some of my favorite moments have been seeing my fellow seniors from hockey, baseball, football and basketball all win conference championships.
How has being a student-athlete at Union benefited you over the last four years?
Being a student-athlete at Union has allowed me to become comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Who was/is your favorite professor at Union and why?
Professor Schmidt [Kenneth B. Sharpe Professor of Economics], Professor Barber [Assistant Professor of Anthropology], and Professor Corbin [Professor of Biological Sciences] are three of my favorites, because of the way they develop our desire to want to learn.
Do you have plans for post-graduation yet? If so, what are they?
I will begin my goal of becoming a professional hockey player.
What advice (if any) would you give to younger athletes about their time at Union?
Don't take it for granted. You'll be a senior before you know it.
