Maren Friday earned ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Friday scored 2 goals and also added two assists in the two games played against RIT over the weekend. In game one Friday grabbed her first collegiate point with an assist, on a power-play goal scored by sophomore
Josie McLeod. that helped spark the Dutchwomen's six goal third period in a come back win. Friday also added an empty net goal for her first collegiate goal in her first collegiate game.
In game two Friday helped get the scoring started with an assist to Junior
Emily King who scored on the power-play. Friday would then add her own power-play goal to make it 2-0 Union and would ultimately be the game winner. Friday is the first player win the award since
Coco Francis '21 won it.
The Dutchwomen are back in action when they welcome Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for their home opener at Messa Rink on Friday, October 8th.
