SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Members of the Union College men's hockey team will be holding a free "Skate with the Dutchmen" event on Tuesday, December 28 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Schenectady River Rink presented by Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York.
Participants can bring their own skates or can rent skates at the rink. In addition to meeting members of the men's hockey team, all participants will be entered into raffles for autographed game-worn hockey jerseys and autographed game-used hockey sticks. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event.
The Schenectady River Rink opened to the public on December 10 and is open seven days a week through the end of February, located next to Druthers Brewing Co. in Mohawk Harbor. To purchase discounted season passes, family package tickets and individual passes, visit

Union will be back on the ice for real on New Years Eve, when the Dutchmen host #12 University of Massachusetts at 4 p.m. for the first of a two-game series at Messa Rink at Achilles Center.
